Service Description

Supervision is one of the most powerful ways we build quality, confidence and capability in Positive Behaviour Support, but only when it is more than case discussion, compliance checking or ad hoc advice. This workshop is for PBS practitioners ready to step into supervision with greater clarity, structure and confidence. Workshop purpose A practical, skills-based workshop for experienced PBS practitioners who currently, or aspire to, supervise, mentor, endorse, review, or provide practice leadership to other PBS practitioners. The emphasis is not on “knowing more PBS”, but on learning how to run supervision that builds judgement, formulation, reflective practice, ethical reasoning, implementation skill and defensible decision-making. The workshop responds directly to the current PBS supervision problem: practitioners value supervision that is supportive, reflective and clinically expert, but supervision is often diluted by operational matters, compliance pressure, limited PBS expertise, and unclear role boundaries. It also aligns supervision with the full PBS capability cycle: interim response, functional assessment, planning, implementation, “know it works”, restrictive practice reduction, and continuing professional development/supervision. Attendees will walk away with practical, actionable tools and resources to either begin or build on their supervisory journey.
