Positive Behaviour Support Workshop Series

These workshops are designed based on feedback from previous training attendees and people working in the disability sector.

This series of workshops will address the different components of effective, legal and ethical PBS interventions.

They are designed to be modular, meaning that each is a standalone workshop that you can attend without the requirement of attending the others.

Some preparation materials will be sent ahead of time.

Please see below details for each workshop.

Note that the times are in NSW/VIC time so adjustments must be made if you’re outside this time zone.

Recordings of these workshops will also be available on demand for 5 days after they take place.

Note that the recording is only valid for the ticket holder.

Workshop 2:

Functional Behaviour Analysis

 Online, Zoom

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is the gold standard approach to supporting people with disability who exhibit behaviours of concern.

Workshop 5:

The Written Plan: Functional Behaviour Assessments and Positive Behaviour Support Plans

 Online, Zoom

Positive Behaviour Support plans need to be person centred, comprehensive and useful to stakeholders across a variety of contexts.

Often, a written plan is also needed to meet the obligations of a funding body. Therefore, it is important to have skills in translating your functional behaviour data and strategies into a written plan that focuses on improving the quality of life of the individual with disability.

This workshop will focus on writing PBS plans in a way that captures the referral question, functional analysis and intervention/s.

There will be information on writing plans that are accessible across different contexts. A combination of case study examples, various templates and practical activities around writing a PBS plan will be used to develop learning in this important area.
