Workshop 1: Foundational Skills in Positive Behaviour Support

Available Online

Positive Behaviour Support Series Workshop 1

240 Australian dollars
Zoom

Service Description

Learn the building blocks of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) in this introductory workshop. You’ll unpack the values and assumptions that underpin ethical, neuro-affirming and human-centred PBS practice, and learn about the PBS process from start to finish. Through case examples and hands on activities you’ll be introduced to conducting a functional behaviour assessment, setting goals collaboratively, generating a functional hypothesis and designing multicomponent interventions to prevent and respond to (BoC). Pitched at those new to PBS or needing a refresher, the session offers a clear map of the entire PBS process, highlights your current strengths and growth areas and sends you away with tools you can use immediately. Given that consistency is key for PBS interventions to be effective, the more members of a team who understand the core principles of PBS, the better. Therefore, this workshop is considered suitable for: • Behaviour Support Practitioners • Allied health professionals • Psychologists • Nurses • Support coordinators • Case managers • Disability service managers • Senior support staff • Therapy assistants
