Group Supervision for Core & New Entry-Level PBS Practitioners

Essential skills, real cases, tools you’ll use the same day.

With Dr Lee Cubis, Clinical Psychologist and Specialist Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner

Ready to build confident, Core-level PBS capability? This small-group program is designed for brand-new practitioners and current Core practitioners who want dynamic, practical learning tightly aligned to the PBS Capability Framework (Core).

What you’ll get
  • Pre-session materials each week (short primers, case packs, templates) so you arrive ready to apply.

  • 4 × live 90-minute sessions that are interactive, case-based and relevant to real practice (formulation labs, “hot seat” supervision, rapid restrictive practice drills).

  • Practical tools you can use immediately: step-by-step guides for functional assessment, values and goal setting, PBS planning and implementation.

  • CPD support: 6 hours of active CPD, plus concise summaries for your CPD log.

  • Certificate of Completion confirming the content covered and mapping it to the Core domains of the PBS Capability Framework.

  • Small cohort (max 9) for tailored feedback and peer learning.

How it aligns to the PBS Capability Framework (Core)
  • Interim Response: risk triage, safety-first language, rapid de-escalation checklists.

  • Functional Assessment: data you actually need, efficient informant interviewing, hypothesis building.

  • Planning: translating function into goals, supports, and proactive strategies that improve quality of life and reduce the need for restrictive practices.

  • Implementation: role-clarity tools, staff-friendly instructions, coaching and fidelity supports in real services.

  • Know it Works: simple progress measures, visualising change, closing the loop with teams and families.

  • Reduce & Eliminate Restrictive Practice: identifying RRPs,, consent/documentation essentials, responsive strategies and crisis management..

  • CPD & Supervision: building your portfolio, using supervision intentionally, next steps toward sustained Core capability.

Sessions are competency-focused and scenario-driven. Expect to practise, get feedback, and leave with resources you can put to work the same day.
